Part 5: Working as a Human Potential Coach

Having completed your personal development programme I will now support you in creating a business plan, brochures and exploring issues such as marketing, code of practice and client recruitment.

We will also look at the barriers to implementing a Human Potential Coaching programme, how to work in partnership with other practitioners and organizations, how to set up an Human Potential Coaching programme, when to refer, and how to successfully run your own business.

For this part you will need the book

  • The One Page Business Plan by Jim Horan. Capstone; UK ed edition (19 Dec 2008)


  • If you haven't already please ask one of your coaching colleagues to facilitate the true purpose conversation with your soul. This might need to take place over a few sessions. Then e-mail your coaching partner all of the questions that you would like them to ask of your soul. This process is the key to knowing what you are to do at this time!
  • Read my article Running a Successful Coaching Business and follow the suggestions I make. 
  • Identify five different life coaches via an online search and write a report about them. What they charge, how they describe what they do and so on. The more you study other successful coaches the easier it will be for you.
  • The next task is to prepare a business plan. The key is to keep it simple and brief. I highly recommend the book The One Page Business Plan by Jim Horan. Using the template provided write a one-page business plan and then e-mail it to me. I will help you develop and refine it


  • In a previous assessment you wrote a marketing leaflet explaining what human potential coaching is, how it different from life coaching and what the benefits of it are. Revisit it and amend it based on your present knowledge. Please e-mail it to me
